After years of building a career in finance and product management, an unexpected layoff gave me the chance to step back and reflect on what truly mattered. I had a choice: return to the familiar path or take a leap into something new and deeply fulfilling. I chose to leap - and it changed everything.

Like many men, I knew what it felt like to appear confident in my career but feel completely stuck in my personal life. I used to hesitate before asking for a number, overthink making the first move or talk myself out of approaching someone I was genuinely interested in. I’d tell myself “I don’t wanna be creepy”, but in reality I was afraid of rejection. And tbh, I just didn’t have experience and the guidance I was finding online felt gamey. Does that stuff work? Sure. But did it feel like the man I wanted to be? Not really. So I went on my own journey, faced a lot of rejection, had some awkward dates and ultimately pushed through years of growing/learning to build confidence in my dating life. What I found is the skills I worked on to become a better dater bleed into other aspects of my life as well. The real kicker was, I saw countless men around me struggling with the same challenges I had faced and realized there was a gap in the market: men didn’t have a trusted place to learn how to build confidence, especially in dating.

That’s why I created The Modern Gentleman Project. It’s more than just dating advice - it’s a marriage of timeless gentlemanly traditions with a modern understanding of what it truly means to show up as a man today. Being a modern gentleman isn’t about outdated rules or playing games. It’s about cultivating self-respect, treating others with respect and dismantling harmful stigmas that have long shaped dating culture. I believe men have an important role in reshaping relationships to be more authentic, equal and empowering - for ourselves and the women we meet.

Through my journey of reconnecting with myself, I transformed not just how I date, but how I live. Today, as a certified dating coach, I’m passionate about helping other driven professionals do the same: break through barriers, build real confidence and create meaningful relationships. The Modern Gentleman Project is here as both a resource and a movement - proof that you can be successful in every area of life when you lead with authenticity, integrity and connection.
